As the European Union embarks on a new European Parliament mandate, the question of ensuring political participation for all resurfaces as a pressing concern. Among the many challenges, the issue of political inclusion for stateless people remains particularly salient.
Iratzar Foundation in collaboration with Coppieters Foundation have organized a conference on 5 November, 2024 at Sparks Rue Ravenstein 60, Brussels, to examine the political and legal mechanisms available to ensure the full participation of stateless people within the European Union.
This topic will be explored through two roundtable discussions:
The first roundtable will focus on analyzing the existing political and legal frameworks, as well as various policy options. This analysis will build upon the theoretical foundations established during last year’s conference.
The second roundtable will examine the role of cross-border cooperation policies as a transitional mechanism for increasing the visibility of stateless nations and fostering a more diverse and democratic European Union.
